Next Dates: 9/15, 10/6, & 10/20

We all need a village, let’s build one!
We know that community is the antidote to…well, just about everything. But with hectic schedules and logistical overwhelm, meaningful connection can feel so out of reach. This free, twice-monthly gathering offers a consistent space to come together – with little ones or without – and to shape the time into whatever we most need it to be.
Feel free to bring whatever you need to care for yourself and your baby. You're welcome to bring food—just for you or to share—but absolutely no pressure. This space is about easing stress, not adding to it.
Whenever possible, we'll align this gathering with Community Acupuncture. If you'd like to book a session with Erika, we’ll lovingly care for your little one while you take time to care for yourself.
No need to register, but please email Corinna below to let us know when you are coming.

Compassionate Care: A Support Circle for Providers
with Sarah Capua
Friday, Oct. 17
12:30-2:00 pm
Tiered Pricing $18/$25/$30
This group is geared toward supporting our community of holistic health providers, yoga teachers, and other spiritual caregivers. Guided by Yoga Therapist Sarah Capua, we will come together to explore the bigger questions brought up in caring for our clients, and look to the teachings of yoga as a guide for supporting our clients and ourselves. We will explore how we can understand more fully what a client is experiencing, viewing their suffering through a spiritual lens, understanding our role in the process, and exploring what is brought up in us in the act of providing care. The goal of this group is to grow from our collective curiosity and deepen our well for compassionate caregiving, so what we offer nourishes both ourselves and those we serve.

Intro to Male Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
with Ali Ece, DPT
Friday, Oct. 17
5:30-6:30 pm
FREE
Most boys and men go through life without any education on how to take care of their pelvic health, and only seek help once things are very distressing. With some basic insight, a lot of pelvic issues related to pain and performance can be prevented or treated before it becomes a bigger problem. This free workshop will introduce you to the basic anatomy of the nerves and muscles of the pelvis, along with simple tips to care for things “down there” before they cause trouble. We’ll also discuss what Male Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy is and what issues it can address. This workshop can benefit men who have pelvic health issues, and those who want to prevent them. It’s also great for moms and wives to get to know what help is out there for the males in their lives.

Concepts in Functional Health
w/ Dr. Robin Flam
Thurs. Nov. 6
6:00-7:15 pm
Tiered Pricing $18/$25/$30
This workshop is based on the functional health model, and its premise that ‘ease’ in our functions results in a sense of wellbeing. We will begin by exploring the model, including looking closely at individual functions and their interrelationships (eg, digestive function, immune function, circulatory function, breathing, cognitive function, movement, sleep, and more). We will discuss how to identify functional ‘dis-ease’. We will look at how functional health is a direct outgrowth of what is going on in our cells and how we have the power to optimize cellular function and thus overall functional ease and wellbeing through proper “care and feeding” of our cells. We will discuss the foundational importance of a healthy gut, and how to develop and maintain one. We will dive into the “food as medicine” approach, and learn how food is our most accessible therapeutic intervention. We will discuss how many healing modalities are also cellular level interventions, thereby impacting functional health and wellbeing.
The content of future sessions will build on this groundwork and will be guided by the interests of the participants. For example, we can talk about: functional changes over the life cycle, specific issues in wellbeing (fatigue, joint pain, irritability, weight instability, medications and other substances), balancing hormones, specific therapeutic applications of food, and how to optimize sleep. We can even discuss systems level supports and sabotages on the path to wellbeing. So bring thoughts, observations, experiences, questions, and curiosities on the meta and minutia levels. It is going to be fun, enlightening, and practical.
